Our forensics team had a successful first meet yesterday hosted at SCS. Nine schools of the Archdiocese of Newark competed against each other. Both Brooke & Rebecca H. made the final round which showcases the top 12 students in the meet. Team members Patrick D., Erin M., Katrina G., and Margot K., also scored very well against their peers. Work is now being planned for the Declamation/Speech meet at Lacordaire in December.

Sixth grader Michael B. received top honors for Saint Catherine of Siena School in the UNICO Christopher Columbus Essay Contest. He was recognized at a special ceremony at the Cedar Grove Public Library on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. His essay will be on display for the month of October at the library. Great Job Michael!

Congratulations to Alumni Owen Taldmage SCS Class of ’13 on being recognized for his exceptional achievement by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as a Commended Student, now attending Seton Hall Preparatory School. Owen is one of the 1.5 million students who sat for the PSAT last fall, some 50,000 with the highest PSAT/NMSQT® Selection Index scores qualify for recognition in the National Merit®Scholarship Program.
